Dr. Elaine PhillipsProgram Director
Dr. Elaine Phillips is an educational consultant and Project Director of the Texas Language Summit. She has a Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education and a M.A. in French from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a former French professor and was director of the Languages Other Than English Center for Educator Development from 2000 to 2003. In 2003, she received a Distinguished Service to the Language Profession award from the Texas Foreign Language Association. She is also a textbook author and has published articles, chapters, and an issue brief on issues related to language learning. She is particularly interested in teacher development and cross-cultural competence.
