Anissa WicktorResearch Associate


Anissa Wicktor is a doctoral student in bilingual and bicultural education at the University of Texas at Austin. She currently teaches a variety of undergraduate level courses and works with pre-service bilingual teachers placed in elementary classrooms in the Austin area. Her research interests include teacher identity development and agency and the effects of high stakes testing on teachers and students. Prior to her doctoral study, Anissa received a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Spanish and Latin American Iberian studies, post-baccalaureate teaching credentials from Prescott College, and an M.A. in elementary education from the University of Alabama. She has worked as a bilingual and ESL teacher in Phoenix and in Quito, Ecuador for seven years.
